Business Analyst for IT System Management

Are you ready to join an ambitious department, responsible for the management of global IT systems critical for Research & Development in Novo Nordisk? Are you able to handle the concerns of users and stakeholders with strong IT process knowledge and a sound business understanding? Then maybe you are our new colleague in R&D IT - Trial Solutions.

About the department
A clinical trial is a crucial step in the process of gathering important data necessary for bringing new medicine to market - new medicine which may eventually change the lives of people living with chronically diseases.

To ensure that all the processes involved in clinical trials are effective and in compliance with quality and safety standards, we employ a host of IT systems of varying complexity. In In R&D IT - Trial Solutions, we hold the operational responsibility for these systems.

You will be joining 14 highly dedicated colleagues in supporting Line of Business (Research & Development) by managing IT systems, core to the clinical trials in Novo Nordisk. Working closely with Line of Business and vendors, we ensure that Novo Nordisk’s business processes are supported while maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.

You will part of a team of 6 supporting the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system with colleagues in Bagsværd, DK as well as in Bangalore, India, and you will have ample opportunity for professional exchange of knowledge and best practice sharing in your daily work.

The position
You will be involved in the operation, maintenance and development of the EDC system, a global GxP critical IT system with thousands of users, internal as well as external. The system is provided by a SaaS vendor.

As a Business Analyst, your key tasks will be to ensure that the system is in compliance with internal standards and regulative requirements, to effectively drive the analysis and implementation of timely and successful IT system changes, and to work closely with the vendor to ensure they live up to agreed service levels.

Additionally the job entails a broad range of IT system management activities such as but not limited to: Collaborating with Line of Business, vendors, key stakeholders and service providers globally, following up on supplier deliveries and incidents and problems on the system. Facilitating and controlling system changes, ensuring annual system management deliverables (e.g. IT periodic system evaluations, User Review Report etc.), managing interfaces with other systems and making recommendations for improvements in processes and identifying better practice.

Furthermore, you are expected to develop and maintain a fundamental understanding of business processes and system functionality.

You will work closely with your colleagues, Line of Business, IT system vendor, and system Quality Analysts (QA).

Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree within relevant area and a proven track record of 3 to 4 years of experience in IT system management, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. It is an advantage (but not a requirement) if you have knowledge and experience within SaaS solutions.

You are already experienced within system management with a thorough understanding of quality and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. The right candidate has a detailed focus on quality and is experienced within validation and good documentation practise.

Being open minded and positive you effortlessly build relations to people across organisational levels, geography and cultural differences, enabling you to collaborate and communicate with many stakeholders, most importantly vendors and Line of Business.

As a person you are dedicated to your tasks, a team player, have a good sense of humour and enjoy a busy, professional but also informal atmosphere. You must be able to work structured, independently and self-driven on simultaneous tasks as you collaborate with different stakeholders in IT system management, Line of Business and vendors at both a global and virtual level. You are able to both go into a detailed analysis as well as keeping the overview and setting directions for vendors and for Line of Business.

You are a good communicator and fluent in both written and spoken English.
