Backend developer intern

Do you want to develop a system that makes people want to go to work in the morning? Do you wish to work in a small, dynamic startup with awesome colleagues? We are in the business of redesigning strategy management software, making a tool that clarifies the purpose and gets people collaborating. We aim to make strategy everybody’s business, involving the employees in the strategy and eliminate boring PowerPoints.
What we offer
As a backend developer you will make sure our platform works smoothly and that we build new features in a smart way. You will be a part of ideation process, taking Whyser to new levels with us. We have finished the first version of our system, and will soon begin working on our second version and we welcome changes and input. You will work with coding the backend, collaborating with our frontend developers. If you have any specific areas you want to develop in, we are very happy to support that as well.

We like a casual, fun work environment and grabbing a beer to kick back at the end of the week. We have an open communication working actively with feedback, as we always want to learn and improve ourselves. In a startup the struggles are real, but we have fun, we can teach you a lot about management, development, collaboration and being in a the startup phase.

About you

• You are excited to join a start-up and work in a company with high ambitions where you will get a lot of responsibility
• Believe that it should be fun to work
• Have a passion for backend development, making systems that are simple, efficient and functional.
• Laravel/PHP and MySQL is something you are used to working with
• Knowing a bit of frontend (JS, Vue.js, jquery) is a big plus
• You are familiar with git workflows
• You like working in a team and you think it is essential to have a close dialogue to frontend developers

We believe that a personal match between you and us is the most important aspect. You don't need a ton of experience, maybe you've coded since you learned about computers or it could be a more recent interest, but you should feel comfortable about working in a start-up environment.

The business
Whyser is a SaaS platform that helps companies improve the way they communicate and execute strategies, making them collaborative and engaging. Most other business areas use online tools and systems but when it comes to strategy and purpose, companies still use Powerpoint and Excel. It is time to change that and make strategies transparent and agile.

We are a small but growing team that started with two co-founders and now we are eight people working with Whyser. We have two pilot customers that we are working closely with and we are working hard on more sales and attracting funding. The first version of our platform is launched and currently we are building new features and improving the platform so it really shines. This is where you come in and can make an impact.
