Would you like to be a part of coordinating activities that promote the role of engineers in the Nordic region? Do you have an eye for detail and a flair for organising events, from planning to logistics? Would you like to gain experience in influencing decision-makers? If you can answer yes to most of these, you could be the Student Assistant we’re looking for.

Tasks description and requirements
We will consider all candidates regardless of their academic background. However, we will prioritise relevant experience and studies. You could, for example, have a social science background, study international relations, want to work in public administration, etc.

As a Student Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the ANE secretariat. The position will entail the following tasks (not exhaustive):

  • Providing support to the Secretary General in planning and executing events: expert meetings, conferences, panel debates, etc. This includes drafting background materials, communicating with different stakeholders, preparing meeting reports, ensuring follow-up, and handling logistics for both physical and online events
  • Conducting desk research, developing documents for stakeholders’ engagement, and preparing project proposals
  • Having responsibility for coordinating activities in the ANE Nordic student network and the ANE Circular Economy Workgroup
  • Assisting the communications manager. This could include managing website content, drafting news and publishing on social media, and finding relevant content in different media/news channels

The position will require:

  • Fluency in English and Danish, both written and oral. Understanding another Scandinavian language would be an advantage. The working language of the ANE is English, but daily communication is mainly in Danish
  • Strong communication and networking skills. Being able to adapt quickly, appropriately engage with stakeholders, and present ideas in a clear way both orally and in written form
  • Srategic and analytical thinking. Being able to learn quickly and present concise summaries of large amounts of information
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-cultural team
  • Good organisational and logistical skills

What ANE can offer?

  • Experience in regional cooperation and representation of interests (lobbying activities)
  • Competences in the planning and coordination of events at different scales
  • Participating in influencing political debates and networking opportunities
  • A small team, where you get a unique opportunity to be involved in many different tasks and also have personal responsibility for specific projects
  • A flexible work environment with the opportunity to learn from different experts, be it engineers, policy consultants, or press officers
  • A job in an international organisation in the heart of Copenhagen. The ANE secretariat is located in the premises of the Danish Society of Engineers, IDA

You'll get lots of valuable experience that can help you in your future career - our previous Student Assistants have gone on to great jobs and internships in big companies, in Danish diplomacy, and in the EU! We have a small team - and a lot of fun!
