DTU Engineering Technology invites applicants who want to be at the forefront of university-industry in research and technology implementation. When implementing new technology in industries businesses develop and new needs, possibilities
and challenges arise. To be successful in technology implementation, research in business development is needed. Therefore, DTU Engineering Technology has established a research group focusing on sustainable business modelling and planning according to the introduction of newly developed technologies. As team lead you will be at the forefront of this development – and you will contribute with research, industry collaboration and education to a sustainable development of society.

The research group consists of five faculty members, who have worked with Business Development in academia and practice for several years. As an organizational unit the research group is young and is expected to grow within the next years by addition of Postdocs and PhD students. As team lead, you will lead the research profile and development of the group in close cross disciplinary collaboration with the leadership group of the department, and thereby you will have a defining role
in the departmental research profile.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Through research, teaching and supervision your unit will contribute to DTU’s strategic aim towards being Europe’s best Engineering education. The research group provide courses and instruction into a number of DTU’s Bachelor in Engineering (BEng) Programmes as well as a range of continuing education formats, including Diploma Programmes. Our approach is research and development- based with a strong focus on professional practice, hands-on experience and problem solving. The pedagogical concept of the BEng programmes is based upon the internationally recognized concept CDIO.

Your leadership is based upon deep scientific knowledge in economics, finance, investment and marketing strategy. You will take lead in developing academia within sustainable business development, sustainable business models and through university-industry collaboration by implementation of sustainable business models for start-ups, scale-ups and established companies. You will work with nearby colleagues in the research group, in the leadership group, and with both academic and industrial partners in Denmark as well as abroad. University-industry collaboration will characterize your teaching and research, why we value practical and theoretical experience.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Teaching courses and supervising student projects incl. PhD students within economics, finance, investment and marketing strategy
  • Integrate University-industry collaboration in your teaching and research
  • Take leadership in developing the research group at different stages of project development. Starting from the seeding of ideas, and identifying scientific knowledge gaps of relevance and matching funding opportunities.
  • Take leadership in creating a team and pull in contributions to make excellent research with diverse team members for different institutions and companies.
  • The ability to lead a research topic area and be highly visible in the relevant international networks.

As a manager, you are a role model engaged in dialogue, so that your leadership inspires others to follow.
