SDU Electrical Engineering (EE) invites applications for one or more positions in Odense as Associate or Assistant Professor in Electrical Energy Technology. EE (www.sdu.dk/en/ee) is part of the Mads Clausen Institute (www.sdu.dk/en/mci) at the Faculty of Engineering at University of Southern Denmark. 

Job description 
Successful candidates will drive internationally competitive research, collaborate in and across disciplines, work closely with industry and attract competitive external research funding. The candidates will play a key role in providing outstanding education, supervise students and develop junior research staff.

We expect
Candidates must have a relevant PhD.
Commensurate with the seniority of the position applied for, the candidates must have:

  • A solid track record in education
  • Extensive experience with industrial collaboration
  • An excellent standing in research and innovation
  • Significant successes in attracting research funding.

Candidates must have experience and competences in several of the following fields:

  • Electric power supply
  • Power Engineering
  • Plant and network protection
  • Electric power generation, transmission and distribution (HV, MV and LV)
  • Intelligent electrical networks (Smart grids)
  • Electric machines.

The candidate will be expected to be able to teach in Danish within two years of being hired.

The start date is 1st of April 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Condition of employment 
The appointment as Associate Professor is permanent while that as Assistant Professor is for an initial period of 3 years. Employment is on the terms specified in the labour market agreement in effect for SDU.
