In our business unit Dairy and Food Ingredients in GEA, we are looking for an Area Sales Manager for our Food Ingredients Customer Lifecycle Support (CLS) team. CLS and drying are designated strategic and fast-growing business areas, where you will be supporting our customers with detailed knowledge on how to improve the performance of the spray dryers in the production line. 

You will be part of a newly formed group in The Food Ingredients CLS team with the goal to unlocking the potential of GEA’s large install base within Food Ingredients and Flavor plants that spans the globe. The group currently consists of two Sales Managers, but you will be part of our plan to quickly expand.

The Food Ingredients CLS group sits within the larger Dairy and Food Ingredients Department that has over 130 employees, and some of the foremost experts in the design and construction of dairy and food spray dryers, ensuring support and knowledge is never far away.

The Job
As Area Sales Manager in Customer Lifecycle Support, you will be responsible for the management of sales projects between 1-50 million DKK in collaboration with local GEA offices and partners. Finding the right drying solution for a customer involves process and plant specification, product test work, cost and sales price setting, preparation of quotations, as well as final contract negotiations with customers.

You will form the link between our customers, our technical department and the project department to develop detailed quotations spanning the entire portfolio of GEA Drying Technologies. Sometimes you’ll even be executing smaller projects yourself as a proposal becomes a reality.

In addition to inquiry related work, building relationships with customers is key:

  • You will provide technical day-to-day support and investigate the customers' need for replacement, upgrade, modernisation, revamping, or maybe an audit.
  • You will work closely with customers and drive GEA’s relationship and customer focus. We will ensure that you are supported by an experienced team of internal experts in technology centers, application development, and project execution. 
  • You will be involved in activities to strengthen our long-term business growth and market position. This involves exploration of new business opportunities as well as the implementation of strategic initiatives as setting up by the management.

Your profile and qualifications:
We are looking for an outgoing and proactive profile with a high drive and strong independence.

To have success in the job you must have a deep technical knowledge of the Food or Flavor drying process, as well as a strong commercial mindset.

You must have a degree in Food Technology, Chemical or Mechanical engineering, and you are familiar with industrial production processes and equipment utilised in the Food or Flavor industry and can translate this into attractive plant design and quotations.

Ideally, you have sales experience within the food or dairy process industry and can show a successful track record within technical project sales.

As you will be working worldwide with customers you need to possess cross-cultural understanding and language skills to plan and carry out complex sales processes internationally and handle negotiations independently.

You must be fluent in English. Our corporate language is English and all contracts and communication with customers is in English. Mastering Danish and other languages is a plus.

If you like the “hunt” for closing orders in collaboration with customers and internal GEA stakeholders, if you have a strong mindset, can hold your nerve and if you can travel up to 75 days a year, you might be the one we are looking for.
