Can you apply technical expertise to pre-tender projects with wind and solar energy focus?
If you bring solid technical experience with a sales/marketing perspective and you are looking for a job with ample opportunities for development, you have found just the right position. You will join our sales & marketing unit in Fredericia as designated technical specialist in transformers in pre-tender projects within renewables (wind and solar energy). You can look forward to major responsibility, massive impact and further career opportunities in a global organisation that invests seriously in the on-going development of the employees.
Bring our technical expertise in front of the customers
Your focus is to deliver technical support to the sales team at the pre-tender stage for transformers - and by this contribute to further strengthening our pipeline of exciting wind and solar energy projects.
As such, you will become ABB’s technical ambassador for our complete range of dry-, distribution- and power transformers, and you will bring our technical expertise in front of the customers. The projects
typically have multi million budgets and the tender phase can often last 1-2 years in total. Focusing explicit on pre-tenders and tenders you will:
- Engage in conceptual discussions with colleagues, partners and customers
- Understand specs and norms and initiate early stage technical optimisations/changes in very complex tenders
- Clarify doubts and misinterpretations and demonstrate technical leadership
- Plan and execute technical meetings and workshops - with colleagues, customers and partners
- Take part in the tender process, by being involved in tender preparation and negotiations with customers
- Build a strong network across the global ABB organisation and to key persons in the customers’ organisations
Locally, you will work closely together with primarily 2-3 of our Account Managers with renewable focus. Internationally, you will get a very close collaboration with colleagues at the ABB factories across the
globe. You can look forward to travel approx. 100 days per year, primarily in Europe but as the market perspectives in the US and Asia are enormous, we expect increased intercontinental travelling.
Electrical Engineer with a commercial mindset
You have a BSc. degree in electrical engineering and at least 10 years’ experience from job(s) where you have bridged technical and commercial perspectives. Your experience can come from a technical department (R&D, Electrical Engineering or Design) and/or project management and/or product marketing, sales and business development. If you have specific technical knowledge within transformers and/or wind and solar energy it will naturally benefit your application.
To succeed, you must thrive on taking initiatives and have the overview and stamina to turn ideas into tangible results like e.g. technical changes in tenders and technical presentations to customers. As you will work with a global focus you must have a strong command of English and maybe also another main language. Additionally, you have the open-minded approach and collaboration skills needed to build good relations to people across cultural, professional and geographical borders.
Your new team
You can look forward to being part of a very well functioning team of nearly 20 good colleagues at our Fredericia office. We are Product Specialists, Customer and Sales Support Specialists, Project Managers and Account Managers delivering power products and power system solutions to our customers within utilities, industry, transport and infrastructure. Our work atmosphere is informal and characterised by dialogue, knowledge sharing and helpfulness. Now we are just waiting for you to arrive with all of your
skills and good spirit.
