Mechanical Engineer for development of future Injection Devices

About the department
Device Research is an area within R&D responsible for creating and maturing ideas into new device concepts for treatment of chronic diseases within all business areas of Novo Nordisk. We have nurtured a dynamic environment where ambitious teams and creative individuals strive to perfect our medical devices. We are constantly improving by challenging each other and testing new ideas to fuel our success.

You will join a small project team of highly skilled engineers responsible for bringing new ideas into the device pipeline. We are located at a state of the art R&D facility.

The position
You will become part of a newly established department with the objective of ensuring fast maturation of new ideas, to enable selection of the most promising for further development.

You will be engaged with multiple projects and work with a variety of tasks, such as problem definition and analysis, idea generation, mechanical concept development, CAD design, robustness analysis and rapid prototyping.

You will be given a number of different responsibilities and work with both internal and external stakeholders. The job will enhance your professional and personal development, providing you with an opportunity to further develop your mechanical engineering skills.

Qualifications
You hold an academic degree within mechanical development. You may have experience from working with mechanical design of plastic components and mechanism design, preferably within medical device development. You master CREO and you are skilled within mechanical disciplines like tolerance stack-ups, material selection as well as kinematic and structural analysis. You have the ability to analyse and understand complex problems, structures and systems. Proficiency in oral and written English is essential.

You are expected to have strong analytical skills, a creative mind-set and a high personal drive. This role requires good communication and interpersonal skills as you will be working in a team with colleagues and external partners of different educational background and nationality. This also requires that you are proficient in English.

You are a team player by nature with the ability to work independently with a result-oriented ‘can-do’ attitude. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have a constructive attitude to challenges occurring during your daily work. You must be prepared to invest significant personal effort in your work and be able to come up with solutions in a complex environment where design, manufacturing, marketing and drug research sets requirements for the tasks.
