We have an Excellence Centre for Offshore Blade Design in Aalborg where we design, develop and test Next Gen Blades. For our Blade Structural Design Department we are to employ a Head of Department whose primary focus will be to lead and pave the way for our 3 expert teams of the department in close co-operation with our stakeholders in Supply Chain and Service. We are approx. 50 engineers in total.

What are my responsibilities?

  • You will lead and pave the way for the entire department ensuring continuously improvement of department targets
  • You will ensure and assist reaching optimal collaboration between the 3 teams and with stakeholders like SCM and Service 
  • Full responsibility of delivering on time and high and correct quality according to plan
  • Full responsibility for achieving results within own team by leadership
  • The overall coordination of the technical work carried out and the competence build up
  • Building and maintaining of processes, design manuals and technology roadmaps
  • Participation in the Blade Department Management Team with 5 managers and interaction with Chief Engineers and Project Managers

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You are an experienced manager with a technical background and a solid theoretical basis for managing an R&D Department.
  • You have a technical Engineering degree, M.Sc. with 10+ years of professional experience
  • You have working experience in a technical engineering organization doing product development and new product introduction, preferably wind energy or aerospace
  • You have a successful track record with people management, management of managers and intercultural management
  • You have a proven track record of project management and project portfolio ownership
  • You are outgoing, determined and persistent with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • You are motivated by making things happen and at the same time shaping the strategy and direction of the future
