For our Technology Department in Brande, Denmark we are looking for bright Lead Engineers who can be a further enrichment of our Bearing department. Our department is responsible for the structural integrity, design of the bearings and technology development of bearing technologies. Your responsibility will be to lead the development of new designs within a given platform. The design of the bearing is done together with the sub supplier and requires often interaction with supplier and Siemens Wind Power [SWP].

Your project team will consist of primarily:

  • A mechanical specialist within bearings and a structural engineer for FE analysis both from within the bearing department
  • The sub suppliers bearing design team
  • From SWP side but outside of the Bearing department:
  • Procurement, Supplier quality, service, warranty department and design teams in the other departments for successful integration of your design. You will in the project design phase refer to the platform Project manager and on all other topics to the manager of the bearing department 

What are my responsibilities?

  • Responsible for development of the bearing from concept to serial production following Siemens PDP process (Siemens gate stage model)
  • Ensure that all potential field issues are corrected before serial production
  • Develop and further improve the PDP process and further break down your deliverables
  • Time planning
  • Sparring with FE, CAD and Mechanical bearing specialists
  • Overview of cost breakdown
  • Close cooperation with prototype workshop, production, procurement, quality and your other Technology interfaces within the department and outside
  • Align design stages with suppliers together with procurement and your mechanical specialist 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You hold a bachelor or a master in structural, mechanical or marine engineering and have experience in product development and project management
  • You have experience in contract handling 
  • You possess a good understanding of systems and you are able to combine that with common sense
  • You can challenge the suppliers on cost, time and quality through always having knowledge about should costing
  • You are outgoing and proactive, and you possess the ability to work both independently and in teams
  • You are structured and innovative and your approach to task solving is both technically sound and commercially viable
  • You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in both written and spoken English
