Would you like to deliver cost savings and help improve the quality awareness and competences of your colleagues?

Join us and become Senior Quality Improvement Specialist in the Wind Power QHSE department where you will be responsible for identifying, defining and implementing quality improvement projects working closely together with your colleagues. You will become part of a small team of expert quality improvement managers managing the overall process and supporting the entire Wind Power organisation with quality improvement initiatives. As Senior Quality Improvement Specialist, you will both lead your own projects and support your colleagues with their improvement projects as a Six Sigma coach. You will act as quality ambassador, training your colleagues in both basic and advanced quality improvement tools during the execution of improvement projects.

The department is part of Wind Power which has 1,800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe, and we are expanding with international activities in the US and Asia-Pacific.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Your key tasks will be to

  • lead or participate in quality improvement projects using the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology
  • support the quality improvement projects of your colleagues as a Six Sigma coach
  • on-the-job training in quality tools and methodologies
  • support further development of the quality improvement process and related tools and templates
  • evaluate the value and impact of both ongoing and completed quality improvement projects

In addition, you will be working with our Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metric as we further develop our method and reporting to support decision-making across the Wind Power organisation. You will be working with detailing our CoPQ data so we can link it to our improvement projects and assess the effectiveness of these projects.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • have a master's degree or similar within a relevant engineering discipline
  • have extensive experience within quality improvement management leading your own projects with documented success
  • have formal training as a Six Sigma Black Belt or higher (with expertise in Minitab)
  • hands-on experience of Six Sigma tools and techniques (MSA, hypothesis testing, DOE, etc)
  • speak and write English fluently.

You should also possess good communication, analytical and negotiation skills as well as thriving in an international environment combined with an ability to create good relationships with your stakeholders. It is an advantage if you have past experience from teaching or communication and are able to translate complex issues into simple and appealing messages.

We offer
A unique and challenging job where you have every opportunity to develop your skills as you drive quality improvement initiatives across the Wind Power organisation. You will play a key role in setting the direction and ambition for how we will work with quality improvement projects moving forward.

In DONG Energy Wind Power, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work goal-oriented and efficiently with some of the world's largest offshore wind projects, and we are committed to reducing the cost of electricity.
