Grundfos is a world-leading company within pumps, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible is paramount when it comes to keeping that position. Simulation is a key area in the technological journey that Grundfos is undertaking and is expected to become a major contributor to the reduction of development time.

“You get to take up a key role, because it is your job to ensure that Electronic Development is utilising simulation to the greatest extent that adds value to Grundfos. Premium products require premium competences, and we need to be frontrunners on methods and tools. You will be our simulation expert,” says Senior Director Jan Harding.

What is the job about?
You will join the Delivery Planning and Development Framework, a team of 7 specialists and architects. We work cross-functionally across 9 other departments in the Electronic Development function, developing and homogenising the ways in which we all work.

While one part of your role is focused on sharing your simulation insights and expertise with the organisation, you will also be tasked with developing the framework and models used in the organisation and implementing them in the projects. To stay at the forefront of your field of expertise, you continuously seek out new insights, staying up to date on the latest research by collaborating with universities and taking part in external knowledge networks to ensure that Grundfos is using best practice within simulation.

“You are the go-to person for simulation insights within software, electronics and mechatronics, and you drive the change when it comes to implementing simulation as a natural part of product development. You get to define our strategy and create and implement a simulation framework within Electronic Development,” says Jan Harding.

What do you need to apply?
Your communication and interpersonal skills along with your high level of personal drive enable you to drive change across the organization. You know how to listen and when to insist on your ideas and point of view, and your simulation knowledge and expertise inspire the trust that makes you a natural go-to person on that subject.

In addition, you have:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with simulation within electronics and/or mechanics/enclosures
  • a proven record of driving change in an organization
  • familiarity with some of the following simulation tools: Saber, PSpice, Simulink/Matlab, Ansys, Simulation in Catia or Moldex3D
  • a good understanding of mathematical models and differential equations
