Risk and Safety Engineer, Copenhagen

Do you want to be part of a growing team working on the most challenging Oil and Gas projects onshore? Do you want to ensure that our clients’ facilities are safe by leading and performing risk and safety studies? Then keep on reading.

Ensure safety for people, environment and assets
As a Risk and Safety Engineer you will support our clients in developing and maintaining safe facilities (mainly onshore) and in obtaining authority approvals. You will also be an important team member delivering risk and safety studies as an integrated part of Ramboll engineering design assignments and/or in independent risk and safety projects liaising directly with our clients.

As an experienced safety engineer one of your roles would be to act as lead engineer on multidisciplinary projects. As part of this, you will be a valued sparring partner with crucial technical insight and a good overview of the project and tasks. In this role, you will act as supervisor for a small team of safety engineers and you will liaise with other disciplines to ensure design consistency.

We offer you the opportunity to work with tasks such as:

  • Preparing Health and Safety Cases for authority approval
  • Performing risk assessments and quantitative risk analyses
  • Performing consequence analysis e.g. fire and explosion analysis
  • Performing RAM analyses
  • Evaluating risk and risk reducing measures according to the ALARP principle including cost benefit analysis
  • Participating and potentially leading safety/risk workshops including HAZID and HAZOP workshops
  • Coordination of technical information between disciplines, internally and externally towards clients
  • Supporting the project management team in planning, client interfacing and identification of technical issues that could delay progress and have an impact on project budgets
  • Participation in proposal preparation

Since we are a global company, there will be travel opportunities according to the specific projects - normally in Norway or in the Middle East. Expatriation is also an opportunity, if desired.

Outgoing and an emphatic sparring partner
It comes naturally to you to set clearly defined objectives, to plan activities and projects well in advance and to take account of possible changing circumstances. You have a good overview and are able to have several “balls in the air” while being very focused on quality and deadlines. You have the ability to communicate clearly in a positive manner and you provide constructive feedback when working with your colleagues. It is important that you are talented in establishing good relationships with clients and colleagues and that you relate well to people at all levels. At the same time you have an eye for detail and quality and you know what it takes to write excellent reports.
With your flexible mind-set you take on all kinds of risk and safety related tasks and responsibilities in projects and you can work within different oil and gas areas, e.g. onshore/offshore pipelines or process facilities.

Finally, you create innovative solutions and challenge the “usual” way of performing tasks.

Besides your personal qualifications, we also expect you to have:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Engineering or Natural Science Education (physics, mathematics or chemistry)
  • 7-10 years experience with risk and safety engineering tasks from the Oil and Gas industry
  • Onshore oil and gas experience, including oil and gas terminals but also small scale LNG plants
  • Knowledge of Danish regulations, including Seveso III and preparation of safety reports
  • Excellent English skills since this is our corporate language
  • Knowledge of Danish or other Scandinavian language is preferable
