Sustaining Engineer for GN Audio A/S - Ballerup - Denmark

GN Audio, a global leader in innovative headset solutions, is looking for a talented Sustaining Engineer to join our team in Ballerup.

Sustained Engineering is a global team, located in both Ballerup and in Xiamen, China. The primary responsibility for the Sustained Engineering team, is being the technical product owner of GN Audio's products across both consumer and business segments, during its mass production life cycle and beyond. Sustained Engineering tags on to a product development team in the last phases of development, to ensure that the right level of maturity is reached, prior to taking over the technical ownership of the product.

Hereafter it is within the responsibility of the Sustaining Engineer, to ensure that relevant products are maintained and developed during its lifetime, ultimately supporting that Jabra have satisfied customers. 

This revolves primarily around taking ownership of providing technical support to our EMS suppliers, QA, escalated customer support as well as providing technical pre-sales support.

Work is generally done in close cooperation with R&D, Supply Chain, QA, Regional sales offices, as well as external sources such as EMS partners, suppliers and other sub-contractors.

Work assignments are categorized into tasks or projects, ranging from simple support matters to being responsible for small to medium sized projects, spanning over 3-12 months.

You will have a key role in a very well-functioning and motivated team, that always strives to support the business in the best possible manner.

10-30 travelling days are to be expected on a yearly basis covering both project/production/QA related travels to China, as well as customer visits, mainly within EMEA & NA.

Key responsibilities
Product Maintenance

  • Take ownership of and sustain designated product families. This includes handling component EOL, part tool renewal, production issues, back-end technical support etc.
  • Proactively monitor production data and product maintenance activities

Project Management

  • Manage small to medium size projects with focus on FW/SW updates, Mech./HW redesign & Quality improvements
  • Manage variant projects, supporting new business opportunities

Process Improvement

  • Manage and support creation and updating of both team and cross functional workflow and processes

Educational background
You hold a B. Sc. or a M. Sc. Degree within electrical engineering or similar and master English fluently in writing and speaking. 

Preferred experience

  •  Advanced experience with MS Office
  • 2-3 years of experience in Project Management (Scoping, scheduling & execution)
  • 2-3 years of experience within product care, quality assurance, life cycle management or product sustaining
  • 2-3 years of experience working with cross functional disciplines, including plastics, RF technology and SW/PC integration
