Senior Engineer, marine substructures, Esbjerg

Do you enjoy working with steel structures? Do you want be a consultant providing outstanding solutions to Oil and Gas and wind clients?

Work on substructure projects
Being a Senior Engineer you will have the responsibility to offer advice and create excellent solutions towards our clients. As part of this, you will design marine substructures within the oil and gas and wind industry. You will work with a broad range of tasks such as preparing new design and concept studies, and performing structural analysis – mainly on single discipline projects, but occasionally also on multidiscipline projects. As development is an inherent part of being a consultant in Ramboll, you will coach junior employees in design and analyses.

The tasks below will be your main priorities:

  • New design and concept studies of offshore structures, both jackets and offshore wind substructures
  • New design and re-assessment of risers riser caissons and J-tubes
  • Structural analyses of reinforcements and reassessment of existing jacket structures
  • Installation removal procedures e.g. design of lifting appliances, preparation of lifting procedures, lifting method studies as well as decommissioning studies and projects
  • Preparation of design documentation (Design Reports, Installation Procedures, etc.)
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control

Outspoken and team-oriented engineer with solid technical competencies 
As a person you are technically well-founded and have an interest in technical challenges. When challenges and complex tasks arise, you use your analytical skills and your ability to see opportunities while keeping a positive state of mind. Another personal quality is your talent for communicating clearly, yet tactfully, when you are working on a project or guiding a colleague. You thrive in an international environment, and through your cultural understanding you build trustful and productive relations. Finally, when working on a project, you consistently meet project goals via your strong planning and organisational skills.

Besides personal competencies, we imaging that you have the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in structural, naval or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 4 - 8 years’ of experience as structural engineer, preferably with offshore substructures in the North Sea area
  • Lead engineer, with tender and project management experience is an advantage
  • Experience with a 3D beam element analysis program like ROSAP, SESAM, SACS or similar
  • Familiar with ISO and preferably also with API, NORSOK and DNV codes
  • Write and speak English at business level

Your new colleagues
Today, the Global Service Area for Jackets in Ramboll Oil and Gas counts more than 50 employees placed in Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Chennai. The department is primarily working with jacket structures for both the Oil and Gas and the offshore wind industry. The department offers services within new substructure design, reassessment and service life extension, hazard (fire and explosion) engineering, noise and vibration engineering and Structural Health Monitoring Systems.
