Control System Engineer

The R&D department is the center of designing, developing and testing welding machines of the future, and it is all-important to secure our company’s ability to continue producing world-class welding solutions. Right now, we are looking for a control system engineer whose primary task will be to develop new controllers for the welding process.

About the job
As a control system engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional development team characterized by professionalism, commitment and quality awareness. Our work environment will provide both challenges and job satisfaction.

You will report directly to the head of R&D.

Your overall responsibilities:

• Develop and implement DSP software which controls the welding process
• Systematically document and maintain welding parameters
• Research in new welding principles

Typical tasks:

• Design and implementation of control algorithms
• Optimizing the welding process by adjusting control parameters in close cooperation with the welding specialists
• Working systematically with improvements of the welding process by using robot welding equipment and high-resolution ultra-fast cameras to correlate data from the welding machine with live images of the welding process
• Develop embedded control software for welding machines (C code)

In the daily work, you will be responsible for specific tasks, which you handle from beginning to end. In completing these tasks, you will be given a high degree of freedom in how you carry them out.

Your background
You have solid theoretical knowledge of process control and ideally, you have several years of practical experience in process control.

Your educational level is a master’s degree or a PhD in process control engineering.

You have proven to be strong in the discipline of process control, and you have good cooperating skills.

You want to build specialist skills in welding processes by collaborating with educational and research institutions in the daily work and you want to participate in international welding conferences.

Preferably, you are also motivated by using your skills and experience to create visible results.
