Mechanical engineer/technician in the discipline ‘HVAC design and engineering’

In Odense Maritime Technology A/S (OMT) we experience a continuous increase in the number of assignments within the ship design area, and for that reason we are looking for committed colleagues daring to take on the challenge of international consultancy within the maritime world.

OMT are looking for an experienced mechanical- or civil engineer with P&ID / HVAC design skills.  

We are offering you a key role in developing our different ship designs in a global organisation operating in our offices in Denmark, India and China.

Task:

  • Designing P&ID’s with focus on HVAC system in accommodation and engine room.
  • Designing of auxiliary systems for main engine.  
  • Making technical specifications 

Job location: OMT A/S, Sverigesgade 4, Odense C - Denmark

Following Competences are desired but not all necessarily required

  • System layout based on general arrangement
  • System calculation of capacities and pressures
  • Heat transmission loss/ input calculation for determining the required cooling/ heating capacity
  • Knowledge to fire regulation requirements for fire zone division
  • Knowledge to HVAC components
  • CAD user
  • Writing specifications for components 
  • Class and flag contact

Professional requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant background
  • Minimum 3 years´ experience within the area of HVAC design
  • Language skills necessary, especially English
  • Handling technical IT systems

Professional requests

  • On top of basic requirements developing technical knowledge and expertise as well as knowledge to the requirements put on the industry from authorities (technically/politically)
  • Use of ERP systems.

Personal requirements

  • Open-minded and curious
  • Interested in the technique as well as the other more ”soft” aspects of life
  • Good communications skills, in speech as well as in writing
  • High degree of self-drive.
