Validation Chemist

As a global leader in the production of probiotic bacteria, Chr Hansen uses the strongest technology platforms in the industry. In order to help fulfill the promise of the breakthrough microbiome science area, we are investing heavily in ways to tailor and expand our discovery and production platforms to allow us to accelerate innovation and product development. Therefore we are installing new equipment dedicated for our Microbiome area together with our Global Engineering department. A new position is therefore offered to support the growth in our Microbiome area.  
 
The position as validation chemist is located in our Process Management department at our culture plant in Avedøre near Copenhagen. The validation chemist needs to have a strong insight in unit operations within the biotechnology industry.  
 
Process Management is a unit of ambitious and dedicated employees with academic and technical backgrounds. We deliver technical support to our internal production units as well as a number of external subcontractors. One of the main focus areas is that all equipment and process are in control and validated to the right GMP level.  
 
Your tasks  

• You will be our leading validation chemist on our new microbiome line located in Hørsholm  
• Participate in execution of SAT, FAT, IQ and OQs of upstream and downstream equipment leading to a fully cGMP compliant drug substance process  
• Prepare relevant documentation such as Validation Master Plans, Validation Plans, Protocols and test plans for a.o. CV and PQAlso functional descriptions, deviation forms and change request forms in compliance with cGMP is relevant  
• You participate in and drive projects across the organization in Denmark as well as abroad  
• You participate in the cooperation of ensuring best practice in the global organization  

 
Your personal profile  

• You are an experienced Validation Chemist with at least 3 years of proven experience with validation of process equipment, preferably from the pharmaceutical industry  
• A relevant academic education, e.g. dairy-, chemical engineer, pharmacist, MSc. in Food Science and Technology or similar  
• Good knowledge of and interest in unit operations is mandatory  
• Experience with GMP, including qualifications and validations of equipment  
• Good knowledge of production hygiene and microbiology  
• Personal drive towards constant improvements  
• You work independently, but with the ability to cooperate and communicate at various organizational levels  
• Analytical and good at making rational evaluations of large amounts of different kind of data - preferably experience with six sigma methodology  
• Pragmatic, initiator and with a good sense of humour  
• Excellent English skills, written as well as spoken
