We are looking for a team manager to head-up the technician team in our Fresh Dairy Application-DK Project & Competence department in Hørsholm. The position combines the team manager role with application scientist responsibilities targeting a ≈ 50:50 split.  
 
In Fresh Dairy Application we support new product development and give tech support worldwide in relation to application of starter cultures, probiotic cultures with clinical documentation, enzymes and bio-protective solutions. The function consists of around 30 employees organized in 3 departments and spanning close to 10 different nationalities. We work in a challenging and positive atmosphere in modern office and lab facilities and in our well-equipped pilot dairy.  
 
The technician team is a newly established structure and you will be working in close collaboration with the director of the Fresh Dairy Application-DK function to implement this in a successful way to the benefit of employees as well as efficiency and quality of our deliverables.  
 
Your tasks  

  • Management of 5 dedicated technicians in their daily work in the pilot dairy and laboratories including resource allocation to projects  
  • Responsibility for the professional and personal development of your team  
  • Close collaboration with the project managers (inside and outside the department) concerning resource allocation and high quality deliverables from your team into their projects - hereunder precise estimation of workloads and duration  
  • In your role as Application scientist you will drive the application part of New Product Development projects and/or Competence Development projects securing timely and successful deliverables and excellent stakeholder communication. Hereunder you will plan, perform and report on trials made in the pilot dairy plant and lab in collaboration with the technicians and in alignment with the project colleagues from other departments  
  • Other assignments of managerial character (e.g. KPI reporting, organisation of visits and events etc.) supporting the director and taking part of our leadership team(s) is also part of your role   

Your personal profile  

  • You have documented experience with people management (e.g. from a team- or project- manager role) and your future career aspirations are within line management  
  • As a manager you can engage your employees and create a positive and energetic working culture resulting in successful and timely deliverables  
  • You have a background in food/dairy science and technology, as PhD/MSc and you are eager to contribute to long term challenging projects  
  • Experience within one of more of the following areas will be highly beneficial: NPD projects; Field trials; Design-of-experiments and data analysis/modelling e.g. in R, Teaching, Global networks, Rheology & Texture  
  • You are: emphatic, ambitious and self-driven - you have a strong integrity and yet a flexible attitude  
  • You have multicultural understanding and master English written and spoken
