We now have a position open as Senior Technical Product Manager in VELUX Modular Skylights (VMS) - one of our newest and fastest growing product areas. In this position, you will have the overall responsibility for product documentation on windows and flashings both our standard program and special solutions that create considerable growth for us – and brightens up the days for people all over the world.
Your challenges
As Team Manager, a team of six competent and dedicated people will report directly to you. You will act as a playing coach in a department with high technical insight and you will play an integral role in product change management related to new products and non-standard requests. This requires you to communicate and engage with stakeholders on all levels to make sure goals are met and tasks carried out.
Furthermore, it will be up to you to anchor the commitment in your team, so the team as a whole will meet expectations and make the most of opportunities that arise.
As a part of the management team in VMS, you will work closely with R&D, production, technical market support, sales, logistic and operations, and you will be the natural go-to technical person in relation to the operative product program.
Everything in the job leads to the ultimate goal of VELUX Modular Skylights: To improve buildings across the world. This applies when you work with technical product management, documentation, bill of materials, master data and packaging configurators.
Among other relevant tasks you will find:
- Ensure establishing of documentation/specification for a fast growing product program.
- Develop systems and tools to handle documentation/specification in a smart and transparent way
- Optimizing processes and securing quality in SAP master data
- Managing your team reviewing and planning tasks and projects
- Coaching and mentoring a diverse team with high standards
Your qualifications
You hold a relevant technical master degree, and you combine this theoretical background with at least ten years of relevant work experience. Preferably, you have spent some of those years as team leader or manager in an order based manufacturing company in the building industry. Perhaps you even have experience from a similar position as technical product manager or specifications manager.
You work with a structured approach, possess analytical skills and can see through a complex product range with many variations on special solutions. Your skillset includes e.g. technical insight, master data, configurators or bill of materials. But most of all, you understand the factors that influence a market driven organisation, and you never lose sight of the actual usage of the products and the way they contribute to the lives of our customers.
On a more personal level, your initiative a good drive and understand the importance of demonstrating modern leadership that includes mutual respect and confidence to people. You run it as a small business, and you are not afraid of bringing new ideas and processes to the table to challenge status quo when you see opportunities for creating better results.
You take pride in your communication skills and your proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and other relevant tools. You are fully proficient in English.
