For our client, SPX Flow Technology we are looking for a new Head of Automation in Denmark.

The job
As Head of Automation Denmark you are responsible for developing and managing a team of professional Automation Engineers in Silkeborg & Søborg and ensuring that a responsive world class service is provided both internally and externally.

A priority in this position is to manage and assembly the departments for Automation.
The team consists of eleven experienced hands-on Automation Engineers of whom nine are located in Silkeborg and two in Søborg.

The Head of Automation will be based in Silkeborg and will be expected to spend on average 50% of his or her time each month with the team in Søborg.

Primary area of responsibility and tasks:

• Lead the Automation Team to deliver systems on time and quality standards and within agreed budgets.
• Work with the Global Automation Team to ensure alignment with Strategic objectives in the region.
• Implementation of global tools & automation standards to align with the ‘One SPX Flow’ strategy.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Process Technology, Project Delivery and Aftermarket functions to ensure that solution and scope development aligns with customer needs and expectations
• Work with Supply Chain to develop trusted vendors for Automation Control Panels and Electrical Installation, who offer the highest value services and quality to SPX Flow Food & Beverage.

Skills and experience required
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Engineering, electrical or related discipline required.

Has 10 plus years of related industry experience; education and/or training in Automation Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.

You have experience with:

• Automation requirements of the Food and Beverage industry
• Leading Automation Technology providers
• PLC coding
• Multicultural global business
• The overall Food & Beverage Systems project delivery concepts of engineering, supply chain, installation and commissioning processes

Also you have:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Project (and preferably knowledge of automation programming as PCS7, WinCC, PLC, SCADA or equivalent)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with English as a primary language
• Ability to travel international at 20 percent of the time.

• Able to engage diplomatically, as well as to manage and to perform leadership
• Able to interface with senior level management
