We are looking for a dedicated Metallurgist, who is eager to deploy metallurgical skills, experience and knowledge with the aim of making a real difference in Siemens Wind Power. As our new colleague you will work in our highly advanced laboratory in Brande, Denmark, together with an international team, consisting of highly skilled material experts. In close collaboration with this team you will have the possibility to work on the continuous optimization of our wind turbines.

What are my responsibilities?

  • You will become a part of a versatile and strong team consisting of highly skilled experts within the field of NDT, Surface Technologies and Metallurgy. The Metallurgy team being the strongest in the wind industry
  • Your primary area of responsibility will be investigation and characterization of materials, with the main emphasis on iron based alloys

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting failure analyses and trouble shooting
  • Participating in various R&D projects
  • Close contact and collaboration with local and international research institutions

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You are an Engineer holding a Master degree and you are specialized within Metallurgy (alternatively materials science). In addition to this, you have several years of experience working as a Metallurgist
  • You possess a solid theoretical background and you are familiar working with metallurgical equipment such as LOM, SEM, OES and hardness measurements
  • Preferably, you are acquainted with mechanical testing and are able to understand and advise based on obtained test results
  • As a person, you are inventive, persistent and outgoing and you have a systematic and structured approach to your assignments
  • You are a self-starting team player who pays attention to "the big picture" as well as the smallest details
  • You thrive in a dynamic and international environment with many cross-cultural interfaces
  • You are an excellent communicator and you hold strong English skills, both orally and written
  • You possess the ability to convey important and critical information, both orally and in writing, to a technical as well as non-technical audience
