DFM is the National Metrology Institute of Denmark. We develop and market advanced measurement services and reference materials and we are among the leaders in the fields we focus on.

Summary

  • Provide and maintain electrochemical measurement services to Danish and international clients, including electrolytic conductivity and primary pH,
  • Research and development of future services, including electrolytic conductivity of volatile solutions, secondary pH, coulometric titrations, and measurements on Li-ion batteries,
  • Writing project applications and scientific reports/papers,
  • Participation in future commercial services, and R&D projects.

Qualifications
(Recent) PhD in chemistry, physics, or related field. Experience with electrical or electrochemical measurements, potentially including electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on aqueous-based and/or solid-state systems.
Spoken/written language: English & Danish 

Character
Comfortable shifting attention between multiple projects, able to work independently on experimental setup design, supervision of construction, improvements and maintenance. Capable of developing and implementing research plans, and well as carefully carrying out methodologies as laid out in, for example, ISO 17025. Familiarity with working in a chemical laboratory and handling large datasets. Rapid learner, trouble-shooter. Capable of working in small team (3-4 people), as well as independently.

Assets, but not required

  • Track record of attracting research funding, national or international levels
  • Peer-reviewed publications
  • Knowledge of bio-chemical and/or biological systems, such as working with enzymes or microbes
  • Experience working under accreditation (ISO standards)
  • Familiarity with programing templates/macros in Excel
  • Knowledge of metrology
