Senior Mechanical Engineer Plastics R&D

For our Headquarter in Hillerød, we are looking for a self-propelled Senior Mechanical Plastic Engineer to join our ambitious group of people in FOSS R&D. Being first and best takes something extra. The job
You will get a unique opportunitiy to work with all aspects of mechanical development across all our projects as the “plastics expert” in cooperation with the mechanical designers. We are responsible for developing instruments from concept until release to production and sales. As Senior Mechanical Engineer Plastics, you will be involved in all plastics parts across the instrument development projects - in some cases as advisor and in other cases doing the complete design process. You will further strengthen our use and understanding of molded plastics on strategic level.

We work in a matrix organization and you will also be part of the Mechanical Group.

Qualifications
You hold a degree in mechanical engineering and must be fluent in English and Danish. You love mechanical product development and is an expert on plastic part design for low quantities.

You have minimum 5 years working experience in the majority of the following:

• Design of plastic parts
• 3D CAD (We use Autodesk Inventor)
• Polymer material science
• Molding tool construction
• Design for manufacturing
• Various manufacturing methods in plastic materials
• Mold flow simulations
• Multi-disciplinary product development processes in all phases from concept to production
• Supplier control

Personal skills
As a person, you are communicative, well structured, ambitious, and a strong team player. We expect you to have a positive mindset, even when things challenge you and deadlines are tight! Additionally, you must share our values and passion for mechanical and technology development at a very high level.
