Do you have experience and strong skills within embedded software development and wireless protocols, and would you like to be part of a new team inside the organization, working dedicated on new use of our existing technology in new innovative products. 

At GN we are known for great sound quality, design excellence and meaningful solutions that help people both in our Hearing and our Audio division. In GN Hearing we have defined the future of hearing by launching ReSound LiNX™, the world’s first made for iPhone® Smart Hearing Aid, that integrates Bluetooth Smart Technology, offering direct wireless streaming of sound from Apple IOS devices. In GN Audio we are doing state of the art headsets and solutions for office communication. The position is part of a new strategic team working with low power communication solutions based on our existing knowledge and technology. 

Collaborate with the best - in the center of product innovation 
As our new Embedded Software Developer, you will be part of the Strategic Project department, developing firmware for low power communication. The team is a small cross-functional team, which is able to execute projects fast, as all needed product development competencies are available directly within the team (Audio, DSP, Mechanical & Electronics engineers). All work will be done in a project oriented development culture, collaborating with the team members in the strategic project team as well as with specialist from other areas of GN. 

Participate in all development phases 
You are part of all software development phases and you take ownership of the embedded software domain, and you participate in the ideation, specification and development of this domain as well as the overall ideation. A central aspect of your job is to provide innovative and effective solutions to the software system in general as well as the specified features and assure high quality design and implementation.

You own the unit testing of your project deliveries, and during the integration iterations, you support the debugging and contribute to solving any challenges. Sparring, code refactoring, peer reviews, improvements and knowledge sharing are also part of your daily work.

Skilled developer with a can-do-attitude 
You have a Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent and are proficient in English, both spoken and written. Additionally, you have at least 5 years relevant professional experience and skills within several of these areas: 

Required

  • Low power embedded software development in C and assembler
  • Experience with 8 bit u-controller (e.g. PIC or ARM)
  • USB protocol implementation
  • Low level debugging 
  • Experience with GIT or other similar source control environments
  • Agile and lean software development
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.g. ZigBee or BLE)

It will be beneficial if you also have: 

  • Understanding of DSP based low power audio processing
  • C#, Graphical User Interface applications
  • Configuration management
  • Build systems/automation
