Your challenges
In this team, you will be a vital part of VELUX Product Development supporting the development of the pane in the roof window. You will be a part of a newly established laboratory supporting scientists and developers.

Your primary tasks will be related to measurements and tests of materials, gasses and components. You will generate knowledge of how the different combinations of materials influence the material performance under specific conditions. You will take part in the creative design of the different test rigs and be involved in the preparation and execution of multiple test set-ups.

Other main tasks will also include:

  • Test of material properties such as tension, hardness, temper test and density
  • Setting up mechanical and chemical test rigs and procedures– hands on
  • Documentation and conclusions
  • Provide input and support to planning of lab work
  • Day-to-day operations and maintenance of test equipment
  • Provide feedback to scientists and researchers and recommend corrective actions

Your qualifications
You bring to the position a relevant technical degree as engineer, laboratory technician or bachelor of technology management and marine, toolmaker or other relevant technical degree. However, the most important part is your 3-5 years of relevant work experience form a similar role in a mechanical or chemical test environment.

In your career, you have fulfilled roles as test engineer, mechanical technician or specialist test and validation. You have hands-on knowledge in the making of creative test rigs and you know how to implement the knowledge gained from your test environment into the making of new high-end products.

You have the ability to understand complex problems and know how to communicate and collaborate with other specialists. We expect your working style to be persistent, independent, structured and with an effective attention to details.

As a person, you have high demands to your own standard displaying respect for and following internal quality standards and procedures. Moreover, you bring a solution-focused and go-do attitude and you see yourself as an independent person with a strong drive.

You have excellent communication skills and a high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. The role also requires you to be fully proficient in English.
