Lead/Senior Structural Engineer - Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind Substructures

Work on Marine Structures projects
As a Lead/Senior Structural Engineer in our Jackets department you will be part of a dedicated team executing ownership of various projects in regard to Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind Substructures.
Additionally, you will be working on projects from feasibility study to detailed design of large offshore substructures. You will mostly be working on single face projects with interfaces to other disciplines.
Through your solid experience in delivering quality solutions, you act as role model for your colleagues, and take lead responsibility in complex project execution.

Internally, you will collaborate with some of the industries’ foremost experts and as we value education and on-the-job training, you will act as a mentor for other team members.

Externally, you will have direct contact with our primary clients such as Maersk Oil, Dong Energy and HESS.

We offer you the opportunity to work with;

  • New design of offshore substructures for both Oil & Gas and Offshore
  • Wind substructures Reassessment, inspection planning and service life extension of aging offshore platforms Installation and removal studies
  • Decommissioning projects
  • Design of mud mats, lifting points, caissons, j-tubes, supports etc.

Since we are a global team, you must expect some travel activity. The number of days can vary from 5-25 days per year, mostly to our Ramboll offices in Copenhagen and Chennai.

Self-driven engineer
As a person you are technically well-founded and have an interest in technical challenges. When challenges and complex tasks arise, you use your analytical skills and your ability to see opportunities while keeping a positive point of view.

Another personal quality is your talent for communicating clearly, yet tactfully, when you are working on a project or guiding a colleague. You thrive in an international environment and through your cultural understanding you build trustful and effective relations.

Finally, you have solid experience with managing projects and consistently achieve project goals via your strong planning and organisational skills.

Besides your personal qualifications, we also expect you to:

  • Have minimum 5-8 years’ of experience in offshore structures in the North Sea area
  • Possibly 2-3 years hereof with lead experience
  • Be familiar with ISO and preferably also with API, NORSOK or DNVGL codes
  • Be experienced with a 3D beam element program (ROSAP, SESAM, SACS or similar)
  • Write and speak English at a business level
  • Hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in structural, naval or mechanical engineering

It would furthermore be an advantage if you have previously worked with tender preparation and Project Management as well as experience with ANSYS, Workbench, LS-DYNA and MathLab. However, this is not a prerequisite.

Your new colleagues
Today, the Global Service Area for Jackets in Ramboll Oil & Gas counts more than 50 employees. The department is primarily working with jackets for both the Oil & Gas and the offshore wind industry.
The department offers services within new substructure design, reassessment, inspection planning and service life extension, hazard (fire and explosion) engineering, noise and vibration engineering and Structural Health Monitoring Systems.
