Graduate for electrical project management within our offshore wind portfolio

Become a DONG Energy graduate and kick-start your career on 1 September 2017 by applying your academic skills to real-life projects and challenges while optimising your professional and personal competences.

Join us as graduate in electrical project management and learn how to deliver the transmission systems for our offshore wind farms. The transmission system is an individually designed and integrated system, consisting of transformers and other HV components, subsea and land cables, including the associated installation onshore and offshore. 

In Wind Power, we build, develop and operate wind farms in Northern Europe to produce cleaner, more reliable energy without compromising on the safety of our employees or the environment. We are responsible for more than a third of the world’s offshore wind capacity, and we will be able to supply clean power to 16 million Europeans by 2020. 

During your rotations, you will alternate between being based at our Danish offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area, at our UK offices in London and at a construction site within our footprint. Furthermore, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. 

The graduate programme
As a graduate, you will be part of a structured two-year training programme that will make a difference in your future career. Moreover, you will acquire extensive practical experience and business insight, while expanding your toolbox and accelerating your personal development.

During the graduate programme, you will be assigned to a business unit or a staff function in our international company. You will have the opportunity to rotate within different departments in the business and have different tasks and responsibilities during your rotations. Moreover, you will have the chance to utilise your professional competences on specific tasks and at the same time build up a wide network across the organisation. You will also learn about our business and strategy, while strengthening your problem-solving and team-working skills, your personal competences and your ability to handle changes. 

Your key tasks will be to 

  • plan and manage various aspects of a transmission project in various stages, eg time, cost, quality 
  • support the project managers in leading the engineering, procurement and construction team 
  • involve and communicate with the project’s stakeholders. 

Your qualifications and core competences include that you 

  • have graduated with a master's degree within electrical engineering within the past year and have delivered excellent results. Preferably, you have a practical background from eg installation or construction work 
  • speak and write English fluently 
  • possess strong communication abilities and are able to connect easily with people 
  • are keen to develop within an ambitious and dynamic organisation and have a strong personal drive and a high learning capacity 
  • have the ability to adapt yourself to an ever-changing environment and encounters challenges with a positive attitude. 

In addition, you will have less than 12 months of relevant working experience.
