Applications are invited for one or more positions as assistant or associate professor in the field of electronics (E), power electronics (PE), and power engineering (EPE) at SDU Electrical Engineering, The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark in Odense; the positions are available from February 1, 2017 or soon thereafter.

Applicants may apply for a position with research and teaching responsibilities or solely teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate has a Ph.D./Master’s degree in PE/EPE or similar high academic qualifications and scientific competencies within some of the following areas:

PE:

  • PE components and systems
  • PE converters
  • Drive systems and electro-motor control
  • High frequency magnetic component design

EPE:

  • Electrical supply network, network protection
  • Electrical energy production, transmission and distribution
  • Intelligent electrical networks (Smartgrids)
  • Electrical machinery
  • Electro-Magnetic-Interference design and analysis

Teaching experience in one or more of the related fields is expected. The successful candidate is motivated and have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, and are experience in collaborating with industry.

Level of qualification is a PhD.

Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the Faculty. 

As part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, an interview may be applied. 

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2015.
