Can you help us develop the biggest offshore wind turbine seen to date?
 
At Siemens Wind Power we have set an ambitious goal. In 2017 we want to develop and test the next generation of offshore wind turbines. For this task we need the brightest engineering minds to join us so that we together can set the new Global standard for wind energy.

For this ground-breaking offshore turbine development project, we are looking for a Specification Specialist. The Team is playing a significant role in our aim to develop the next generation offshore wind turbine and is staffed with highly skilled engineers within dynamic structural analysis. To support our internal team, we are teaming up with external Engineering Companies in Europe and India.
 
The Team is based in Vejle together with the entire project organization, which offers a unique possibility to work closely and efficiently together with design teams and other stakeholders.The location in Vejle offers very nice logistic possibilities whether you travel by car, train or bus.
 
What are my responsibilities?

  • Drawing out the overall strategy for the specification activities in the development project, securing alignment with the other turbine platforms and related areas within supply chain and quality
  • Ensuring that a robust interaction with Standardization Authorities (for instance DNV-GL and DS) is established
  • Ensuring that updates from revised Standards are incorporated in Siemens Wind Power specifications in due time
  • Ensuring compilation of guidelines and instructions for our engineers, make trainings and follow-up on the use of specification within engineering department

 
What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You have an educational background as a mechanical engineer with 5 years of experience within metal/alloy/composite area - preferably also experience with welded constructions
  • You have preferably worked with standardization and component specification
  • You have a trained eye for costs versus requirements - and you can challenge the “Status Quo” way of thinking by bold arguments
  • You are persistent and structured
  • You are independent and selfdriven

 
In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
