As Material Engineer in our Construction Materials & Surface Technology team, you will be a key person in performing trials, collecting data and documenting material properties.

Your challenges
You will apply your well proven track record within Design of Experiments, testing and statistical data analysis to a wide range of materials e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics and composites. As an example, you will participate in moulding polyurethanes in our workshop, prepare samples for testing, analyse and report test data.

In performing your everyday tasks you will support and collaborate with Material Specialists and Technical Project Managers, you will have a large interface to the rest of the organisation and you will cooperate externally as needed.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Design and plan experiments with other members of the team
  • Independently execute process trials
  • Carry out physical and chemical testing of materials and components
  • Analyse and validate data

Furthermore, you will be responsible for the reporting and visualisation of your results and for keeping our technical documentation up-to-date, which is paramount for the quality of our windows.

You will be based at our location in Østbirk, but we are a global organisation, so you can expect approximately 20-40 days of travel a year.

Your qualifications
We need you to be both self-driven and thorough in everything you do. At the same time, you must be a collaborative team worker when you take part in our development projects.

You possess both craftsmanship and an analytical mind. You will be working hands-on with process equipment while using your attention to detail to understand and interpret data.

Your educational background is of a technical nature. Maybe you hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, maybe you’re a plastic technician, or maybe you are a trained process technician. Either way, you preferably have a minimum of 5 years’ experience from a technical industry and solid experience in tests and data analysis.

You will have further advantages if you can tick off any of these items on your list of skills:

  • Testing of physical and chemical properties
  • Design of Experiments
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken
  • Experience from plastics industry, composites industry, testing services sector, building components industry or similar

You are accustomed to English as a working language in both speech and writing. German and Danish would be an advantage.
