Food Applications segment is on a steep growth curve with further potential to unfold in the years to come. As such Food is one of the designated key strategic areas within the GEA business. The position offers significant influence on the development of the project organization. As Head of Project Execution (OSI) you will be a vital part of the department, securing the project delivery towards our customers.

You will join the OSI management team of 4 managers covering the areas Sales Support & Offer Management, Application Development, Liquid Food and Project Execution, all 4 reporting into Head of OSI, APC Food.

Areas of responsibility
The overall objective of the position is to manage the project execution team in the Oils, Starch & Ingredients Applications both in relation to project portfolio management and people management. The job is to secure operational stability and continuous growth and optimization without compromising either of the two aspects. The Head of is an ambassador of culture change and imbed the OneGEA mindset in the day-to-day business, leading by example.

The Head of Project Execution (OSI) is responsible for projects - values up to typically in between 10 -100 M DKK per project. S/he is tasked to create a proactive and structured project approach hereby ensuring an efficient execution of the projects. S/he is responsible for establishing and maintaining a well-functioning cooperation with relevant stakeholders within the full life cycle of the projects.

S/he has direct management responsibility for 17 direct reports who are mainly based in Søborg, some however in Germany. The team consists of seasoned as well as younger Project Managers, Project Engineers and Designers and Project Assistant. Some of the positions are newly created and vacant, representing a possibility to influence the staffing of your team.

Work location is Søborg

The job entails approximately 40-60 travel days a year

Who are you
An experienced manager with a solid track record as Project manager for complex technical projects! You have a technical university degree, most likely in a relevant engineering field.

You are motivated to manage both people and business, and thrive in a fast paced customer oriented work environment.

You have strong analytical skills and aptitude for and strategic thinking. You have documented experience in the ability to translate the conceptual aspects into practical actions, and motivate people to walk the talk.

You are able - and comfortable - to delegate, and strike a good balance between coaching and directing. You advocate a service-oriented work style with focus on customers - without losing the economic and strategic overall for the Group. Overall you are systematic and structured with you own work and give clear steer and freedom to act to your employees.

Educational requirements
Preferably a degree in engineering such as:

  • Process/mechanical Marine
  • Chemical/food and dairy (fødevare/mejeri)
  • Food technology
  • Environment (CHEM) Engineering combined commercial education

Experience requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience
  • Min. 5 years experience in project management of large projects as responsible PM
  • Strong people management skills (communication - setting clear goals and giving clear steer, development and recruitment)
  • Good financial acumen and understanding
  • Experienced in handling complex contracts and negotiations
  • Experienced in strategic development, management and optimizing of project organizations
  • Preferably experience from working and navigating in a truly global organization
