Innovation & Concept Development
You will be part of a team with 8 experts that are concerned with the emerging changes in the energy system infrastructure. More specifically, the team works towards achieving a higher level of decentralized dynamic control combined with a trend towards more distributed grid architecture. This will require a re-engineering of how variable renewable energy sources, like wind and solar in combination with storage, are integrated and interconnected.
Responsibilities
As Energy Storage Specialist you will be responsible for modelling, dimensioning ("right-sizing"), integration and interconnection of storage in a variety of grid architectures and configurations with storage integrated at several levels in the energy system hierarchy.
You will drive the definition of requirements to the storage technology and the storage solutions with respect to cost, performance, control and operation and maintenance. Furthermore, you will take part in landscaping and road mapping of storage technology, concepts and supply chains as well as defining optimal configurations of solutions and consortia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. in Power Electronics or Controls Engineering.
- More than 5 years of post-graduate professional experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the energy industry with direct contact to the aspect of storage is required .
- Deep expertise in Storage technologies and modelling of power systems based on profound knowledge and understanding of power systems functionality.
- Experience in and demonstrating the ability to discover, incubate & drive electrical systems from low-TRLs to proof-of-concept and prototyping.

You are able to turn a defined direction into a concrete action plan as well as execute and lead activities from uncertainty removal and conceptual design to prototyping and product development. Finally, you are motived by operating and improving modern simulation and data analytics tools.

Additional information
The preferred work location is at Vestas Technology & Service Solution's Headquarter in Aarhus, Denmark.
You will work close together with colleagues globally in Vestas, engage in technology scouting and create/maintain partner networks outside Vestas, so up to 15 % travel is to be expected.
