Wind Turbines Technical Project Manager for large offshore wind farm projects

Join DONG Energy and become Technical Project Manager in the Wind Turbines - Technical Management department. We are responsible for managing the technical delivery of wind turbines on our wind farm projects. As Technical Project Manager You will manage a small team of engineers. You are responsible for managing the technical aspects of the wind turbine scope while driving team performance and ensuring delivering on objectives. You will report to Wind Turbine Project Manager.
The department is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
You will be based either at one of our Danish offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom or our Hamburg office in Germany on local terms and conditions. You should expect some travelling in relation to your work in connection with meetings, site visits, inspections and FAIs and FATs at contractor and subcontractor premises.
Your key tasks will be to
- conduct technical discussions with suppliers
- participate in negotiation of contracts, incl. work instructions, variation orders and claims
- manage communication and recording of technical solutions agreed with the Contractor
- manage employer's requirements related to delivery of the technical scope including quality and risk management
- ensure human resource planning and follow up within the technical team.
Furthermore, you will be responsible driving HSE towards the Contractor and within the technical team to ensure compliance with project targets. You will manage QA/QC of design solutions, technical interfaces to foundations, electrical, SCADA etc. You will also conduct stakeholder management towards Product Line, Procurement, Operations etc. Your responsibilities will also include delivery of WTG related parts of the certification package, delivery of technical documentation and participation in handover to Operations.
Your qualifications and core competences include that you
- a bachelor of science degree in engineering or similar
- have extensive project management experience and preferably you have a PMP certification or similar
- have skills and knowledge within a combination of wind turbine technology, offshore construction works and contract management
- have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks
- speak and write English fluently.
Furthermore, you should thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with your stakeholders. In the projects, you will cooperate with colleagues with varying nationalities, backgrounds and across different organisational levels. Thus, excellent leadership and communication skills, verbally and in writing, combined with strong interpersonal skills are key to succeed in this position.
