Mechanical Proposal Engineer

Do you have experience with design and proposal work? Would you thrive working in an international and dynamic company based north of Copenhagen? We are currently looking for a Mechanical Proposal Engineer for a newly opened position to join our current team of engineers.

Develop the technical solutions in our sales projects
As Mechanical Proposal Engineer you will become responsible for liaising with vendors and business partners in regards to concepts and mechanical design. In cooperation with the other technical disciplines, you develop an overall competitive technical solution, while ensuring that the client requirements are fulfilled. You will be pricing and specifying the works in relation to scope and technical standards and will participate in the negotiations with the clients and consultants when making the contracts.
Design skills, cooperation, interdisciplinary abilities, planning and overview are core elements in this position where deadlines are often tight and always met.

Typical activities can include:

• Conceptual design 
• Power plant layout input and optimization 
• Preparation of mechanical equipment enquiries
• Making technical specifications and capacity diagrams
• Liaising with engine/boiler and other manufacturers of main components 
• Cost estimation
• Participating in contract negotiations, from the office or abroad

We are a project orientated entrepreneurial company and we manage our projects in an energetic matrix organization. Our daily work is conducted in a fast pace with high focus on cross-functional team work and quality in what we do.

You will be based in one of our two proposal departments covering diesel and biomass plants respectively, depending on your profile. Flexibility is expected in supporting both departments sporadically. The departments consists of about 20 employees combined and are responsible for concepts, design, specification, cost estimation  and technical support during contract negotiations in close cooperation with our sales departments for turnkey power plants worldwide.

Experienced engineer with interdisciplinary skills
You are a proven and experienced B. Sc. or M. Sc. within Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering. You have 10+ years of experience with design works from power plants based on steam cycles or diesel engines, from waste incineration plants or from similar complex industrial plants.  Furthermore you have experience in proposal works and it would be beneficial if you have:

• Experience in contract negotiations
• Experience with international codes and standards including the Mechanical Directive and Eurocodes
• Good knowledge with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with AutoCad
• Experience from operation and/or maintenance of industrial plants

You are proficient in spoken and written English on a high technical level. Abilities in French or Spanish language are beneficial but not required.
