Systems Engineer

Over the past 4 years, 3Shape has successfully launched several revolutionary intraoral optical 3D scanner products - the TRIOS scanner family. The TRIOS scanners enable high-definition, digital workflows directly in the dental clinic, and are disrupting the traditional dental workflows by eliminating the need for physical impressions of patient teeth.

We are currently looking for a systems engineer to strengthen the systemic coherence of our growing portfolio of projects. This include projects from the handheld scanning hardware to application software. Together with the program manager and in collaboration with the individual projects, you will take our system level requirement handling, system configurability, and system description and documentation to the next level.

Job Description
System level requirement handling

• Lead requirement formulation and traceability on system and module level
• Understand user needs and formulate technical requirements from these
• Understand requirements from standards and formulate technical requirements from these in interaction with the R&D developers

System configurability

• Manage configurations and system interfaces
• Identify verification needs for configuration
• Use interface knowledge to participate in test planning for when modules are integrated

System description and documentation

• Functional architecture documentation
• Component/module definitions
• Participate in system partitioning (HW-Firmware-Embedded SW - SW) 

You will report to the TRIOS program manager.

Candidate profile
The successful candidate must be a technological heavy-weight with a generalist’s ability to understand multiple technological areas and how they interact in a system.

• M.Sc. in Physics, Electronics, Software Engineering, Mechanics, or equivalent
• Several years of experience with systems engineering, preferably related to product development in the medical device industry
• Radiantly passionate with technical products and challenges
• Knowledgeable within agile processes and methods, but with a strong preference for quality and timely delivery
• Mindset for seeing priorities from an end-user and an overall business perspective
