SimCorp Dimension is one of the world’s leading investment management software systems used globally by international financial institutions and equity funds.

The position is located in the Cloud development group in Copenhagen, forming part of SimCorp’s Product Division. You will join an experienced and highly skilled scrum team that is responsible for developing technical building blocks for the future cloud offering of our product SimCorp Dimension.

Combining the art of designing and programming
Your responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design to the actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application will look as well as how it will work. You will be implementing the projects using CSS, HTML and JavaScript as the main tools.

You will work according to a Scrum methodology with the following key responsibilities:

  • Interpreting business requirements together with product owners and translating these into working software according to an agreed “definition of done”;
  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use;
  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs;
  • Optimizing application for maximum speed and scalability;
  • Writing automated user interface tests and taking part in testing as agreed within the Scrum team.

Front-end skills in an agile team
The successful candidate will possess well-rounded front-end skills based on a significant number of years of front-end web development. Working in an agile team, you should possess an inquisitive mind as well as a willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as take a practical approach to solving problems.

To succeed in this job, you would preferably have:

  • A master’s degree or a Ph.D. in computer sciences or other relevant field;
  • Experience with web-based testing, e.g., Selenium, MsTest, and Jasmine;
  • An expert understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3;
  • Experience with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and/or SASS;
  • An expert understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery, Knockout.js, or similar;
  • A good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, AJAX, and promise API’s;
  • A basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image;
  • A proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

A basic understanding of C# is an advantage, as well as knowledge of the ASP.NET MVC framework.

Personally, you describe yourself as a curious person, who is focused on details and deadlines, and take ownership of delivering a sound solution. You have the ability and willingness to apply a broad knowledge in different areas, and possess a good sense of humor and a pragmatic approach.
