We are currently looking for a Global Overhaul Solutions Engineer with a focus on generators, for our Global Overhaul Services, a new area within SGRE Services Business Unit, Spares Parts and Supplies Department. This area was born with a strong conviction to make Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) the market leader in the refurbishment business, both for SGRE and Multibrand fleets.

How to contribute to our vision
In order to contribute to our vision you will be reporting to Global Overhaul Solutions & Strategy Manager for Major Components at Services Business Unit, to fulfill the following functions on generator refurbishments in internal repair shops and in external vendors, including the direct drive Generators designed and manufactured in house. You will...

  • Ensure close cooperation with the Services Technology team in the creation of technical specifications for refurbishments in workshop.
  • Coordinate the elaboration and implementation of work instructions for refurbishments in SGRE workshops of the direct drive generators with the SGRE Repair Shop in Denmark by coordinating the support from TE
  • Coordinate the design of tools for generator refurbishments, validation and global roll out in the different workshops
  • Support the overall refurbishment strategy based on technological and business drivers and customer demands
  • Lead the projects and initiatives within SGRE orientated on developing new or buying generator refurbishment capacities worldwide and improving the existing ones
  • Support the elaboration of the refurbishment footprint and portfolio
  • Ensure refurbishment reliability and cost efficiency
  • Work with Procurement Cost Value Engineering team to prepare business cases for repair related projects and for the productivity to be reported
  • Support Sales & Marketing to make sure that the refurbishment portfolio & footprint is adapted to customer needs and revenue targets are met
  • Support Sales & operations Planning to make sure the lead-time fulfillment for our customers

Overall, you will ensure that there is alignment of the Overall Refurbishment Solutions worldwide and work closely with HSEQ to ensure that the H&S and Quality guidelines are in place and implemented within external vendors and SGRE Repair shops.

What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.

To succeed in this position, you will need a proven track-record of handling technical projects, with a minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in an international environment. Due to the technical nature of this position, you will need a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or similar - MBA would be a plus. The role requires strong interpersonal and English communication skills – verbal and written. Spanish is a plus.

Attitude is the multiplier; confident and capable of working in a multicultural environment with good analytical and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience on remote team management and change management is highly valued.
