You will join our Existing Bridges and Monitoring department
As our new junior engineer with experience in monitoring and construction you will be part of a dynamic group that works with monitoring, that being everything from bridges to high-rise buildings. Our latest assignment consisted of setting up measuring equipment on a bridge in Australia and being part of the tender for a new high-tech high-rise building in Hong Kong. In addition, our department has been responsible for the design of the monitoring system installed at Queensferry Crossing in Scotland. Between the monitoring tasks there is also ample opportunity to work with the design of new smaller bridges in both steel and concrete.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Design and planning of monitoring systems
  • Participate in on-site setup of smaller sensor monitoring systems
  • Data analysis from sensor data
  • Contribute to department with latest knowledge in your field
  • Help with calculating load capacity on existing bridges
  • Participate in design teams on new smaller bridges

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Engineer with specialties within the civil or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with Labview for setting up measuring programs and sensors
  • Experience with data analysis using Labview, Matlab, and Python
  • Are curious about Big Data and have experience here with
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of FEM software such as LUSAS
  • Has knowledge of structural dynamics within concrete and/or steel
  • Can be part of the design team working with strengthening of existing bridges but also help in design of new bridges
