The job
FOSS is the world’s leading producer of innovative analytical instruments that monitor and control food quality. We are market leaders and business is continuously growing. We are thus looking for a warehouse manager that can improve and optimize our customer service level and our productivity via LEAN methodologies, and streamline operational logistics from inbound to outbound at our plant in Hillerød.

The Production and Supply Chain function has a clear strategy for a transparent end to end supply chain, and you will define some of the steps to implement this strategy.

The warehouse provides a vital service as part of the flow in the plant, cooperating on a daily basis with shipping and property teams, among others. You will be the driving force in securing alignment both inside the department and with other functions, building the trust and accountability that lead to great teamwork.

As Warehouse Manager you will lead the warehouse, 26 employees organized in 4 teams : Goods reception, Stock, Pack/Ship and Return center, covering many different processes. Keeping a clear goal and a constructive dialogue by daily planning and KPIs measurements in each team is thus very important.

Primary tasks
You run daily business at the warehouse, improving and developing the flow. You receive orders and deliver products based on the pull of the customer, while effectively levelling the work and creating continious flow. Our business is well suited for one piece flow.

Every time improvements are made you maintain and develop the management system so processes are up to date and compliant in your area.

You plan capacity to match customer needs and also control the realized cost versus your budget. Especially inventory diff., cost for obsolesence, scrap, engineering changes and packaging are important accounts.

The strategy is deployed via a structured system with challenges and targets. You make the plan to meet the targets with your peers. You facilitate and coach the teams in both performing in daily business and making investigations to improve performance continiously.

Leadership presence is amongst others secured by production board meetings and process confirmations made by you on jobs performed by team members, and also in your personal involment in practical problem solving.

25% of the warehouse department works on an evening-shift (14-22), so you can expect to cover the evening shift on a regular basis. Some vital processes are performed on evening shift only (cyclic count for example).

Qualifications

  • In order to succeed we expect you to be educated in supply chain management or have a background as a production-engineer or similar.
  • You have in depth knowledge with ERP systems especially the warehouse and planning part of ERP, and you are used to following up on budgets and reporting corrective actions on eventual deviations.
  • Lean is a big part of your experience and your cultural mindset. Last but not least we expect a talent for creating high performing teams!

  • You want to understand and solve problems and you take pride in paving the way for your team, so your department and the company deliver the results.
  • You have a high drive; you are curious and open-minded, eager to deliver results in the right way with a capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • You reflect on feedback and continuously try to improve. You follow up on decisions made and you take responsibility for the outcomes.
  • The job requires good networking and communication skills since you will work closely with a wide range of teams and people.
  • You are able to communicate business fluently in English, the corporate language of FOSS, as well as in a Nordic language.
