Technical Purchaser for Valmet Lime Kiln

Valmet continues to develop our successful Lime Kiln business so join us and embark on an exciting journey in a dynamic and challenging environment.

We are now looking for an experienced Purchaser with strong technical understanding that can manage a dynamic workday and a wide variety of products. You will be working with our capital Lime Kiln projects and support our service business. A prerequisite to be able to master this position, is that you are an engaged and positive person with a passion for working with technologies and business together with colleagues.

In the role as Purchaser in our Project Procurement team you will actively collaborate with our global supplier base as well as with other disciplines within Valmet, both locally and globally.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Issue RFQ´s, evaluate quotations, negotiate and place Purchase Orders
• Manage and develop the supplier base
• Supplier relationship management and supplier development
• Resolution of supplier related issues for unresolved issues
• Support sales and cost estimation in Sales Phase
• Global sourcing of new suppliers
• Establish and continuously develop strategies for your supplier base.
• Participate in cross functional teams focusing on effectiveness and cost savings.
• Participate in development projects

Requirements:
To be successful in this position we expect you to be result and business-driven and have experience of team work and negotiations in an international environment.

A background in Machine manufacturing industry, product knowledge and hands-on experience in a similar role in an international environment, including experience of working with an international supplier base, is an advantage.

You have a suitable education, preferably a technical degree. Other degrees with extensive relevant work experience are also possible.

Ideally you have been working with rotary kilns or in other heavy equipment industry, we think you are curious and eager to learn and are not worried about having a steep learning curve.

Your personal characteristics include strong communication and intercultural negotiation skills. You have co-operative attitude and genuine drive and desire to make success within Valmet as part of the Lime Kiln team. Fluent English both written and oral, is essential.

The position requires some travelling due to global partners and suppliers.
