Do you like managing a project from inception to completion, while you immerse yourself in the technical aspects of a product? And do you enjoy working with many different people and professions to make sure all ends meet?

Then this position as a technical project manager within the VELUX Group might be the next step in your career.

Your challenges
Your primary task is to lead the technical section in projects related to VELUX® installation products, ensuring that they meet market demands and are delivered in the right quality, time and economy. You join a value stream team that is jointly responsible for the overall project development - where you, as a technical project manager, are responsible for the product development. In the project management team, you will - in addition - collaborate with a supply coordinator and a market coordinator who enables a link to our production and markets.

Depending on the projects’ scope, you will get the project management responsibility for a team of 5-20 participants from product development and our testing and specification department.

Your main tasks include:

  • Taking on a coordinating role, assuming the technical responsibility for a complete product that suits our markets, production set up and performance requirements
  • Ensuring progress in product activities in our Stage Gate model, related to e.g. product quality, sturdiness, tests, verification, risk management and Scrum
  • Preparing and following up on plans for e.g. product development, tests and budgeting
  • Leading, inspiring and motivating project teams to create great results and products of a high quality while keeping an eye on deadlines, economics and our customers
  • Communicating and presenting technical decisions in our technology forum

You will work in Østbirk and can expect 10-20 travel days a year, primarily in Denmark.

"You thrive in a matrix organisation where you will be responsible for building an efficient team and ensuring progress and cooperation both in the team itself and with the rest of the project organisation," says Senior Manager Peder Diness Jakobsen.

Your qualifications
As a person, you like to lead a team and possess the necessary energy to ensure progress in your projects. And even when projects and tasks are complex and run in multiple workflows, you keep track of it all. You are able to do so because you communicate easily with people across professional, national and cultural limits – and because you are good at building relationships via collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have a degree in construction management or engineering and 5+ years of project management experience in relation to product development - preferably related to building components
  • Hold a deep technical understanding and can translate laboratory and field tests into constructive product optimisations
  • Are passionate about engineering and construction, and you have the insight necessary to challenge technical solutions to ensure that opportunities and risks are uncovered
  • Maybe know about FMEA and Design for Manufacturing
  • Communicate effortlessly in English - in speech and writing

Your opportunities
At the VELUX Innovation Centre, you become part of a strong product development team. Here, you will play an important part in shaping the future standard for technical project management within the VELUX Group, and you will have every opportunity to develop your professional and personal competences.

We have got room for your ideas, and on a day-to-day basis, you will become part of a dynamic and rewarding environment where commitment, mutual respect and local initiatives are among the core values. And although we are busy, we are committed to the idea that there should be a good balance between work and family life. Once here, you will find yourself being part of a healthy and evolving workplace where committed employees thrive.
