- for a fast growing and innovative medical device company

Do you have experience in developing medical devices or do you want to develop medical devices that make a huge difference to people’s lives? Do you want to manage all phases in product development? Are you able to work closely with internal and external partners to optimize our current product portfolio within our cardiology and neurology areas? Then your new career could be with Ambu as Technical Lead Engineer.

Since 1937, Ambu has developed, manufactured and sold medical devices. Today, millions of patients and healthcare professionals depend on the functionality and performance of Ambu’s products worldwide.

In this newly established and challenging position, you will be an active contributor in the innovation team and participate in securing the future success of Ambu in the interest of our users.

You will be part of an effective innovation culture with a tradition for fast completion of projects, which means that there will be a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. You will be a member of the Core Product Innovation team that focuses on products within Anesthesia, Neurology, Cardiology as well as Emergency Care & Training. Your focus will be on the electrode portfolio, ie the areas of Cardiology and Neurology. The Core product Innovation team is a new team, so you will also be part of building up the team. Your workplace will be at Ambu’s headquarters in Ballerup.

Involved in all aspects of the innovation process
As Technical Lead engineer, you will be part a vital part of running and driving product development projects within our electrode portfolio, together with our innovation colleagues in Penang. You will be involved in all aspects of the innovation process - from the conceptual design to the product validation. You will work closely with marketing and participate in the interaction with future users to optimize the current product portfolio and identify opportunities for new products. You will be responsible for the documentation throughout your work, working according to the principles of design control and our Product innovation process.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinating electrode projects between Ambu’s global Innovation sites, building up the product know-how and create a close relationship to our innovation colleagues as well as our production site in Penang.
  • Concept development of ground-breaking products within the electrode portfolio
  • Stakeholder management and coordination across various in-house functions including, but not limited to, RA, QA, Clinical, Production, Procurement
  • Your contact base will be broad, and you will have an interface with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centers and suppliers.

Project responsibility
You have knowledge of developing medical devices and the design control process. You have a good technical foundation and interest, and you are capable of understanding technical implications of various options, also in relation to production. You work well with others and will thrive in managing projects with team members across the globe. You have driven projects before, but you are not necessarily a certified Project Manager, as you will typically share the project manager role with a colleague from Penang.

Most likely, you are employed as technical project manager or technical lead engineer in a similar job within the medical device industry or in a consultancy that deals with the medical device field. We expect that you have at least three years of relevant experience, preferably within medical device development or even electrodes. Clinical experience will be a bonus.

Preferably you hold a Masters degree in engineering, or another technical discipline.

As a person you are curious, highly motivated and flexible. You have great interpersonal skills and have a sense of occasion, which makes you thrive in global teams. You have a passion for new challenges, you are a “do’er” and prefer to act rather than theorise about problems. You have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You work in a structured and proactive way, but you are flexible and able to “think outside the box”.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 30-40 days a year.
