Teamlead, New Payment Portal
Challenging leading role of developing part of new Nordic portal

For our client DIBS Payment Services in Copenhagen we are looking for a diplomatic agile leader with high interpersonal skills to be responsible for a portal which is part of a new payment platform. The payment platform is located at different locations in Scandinavia and one nearshore location. Your team is working on the portal with a nearshore team. 

It is essential that you ensure a high performing scrum team based on agile leadership. You will work with the other teams and your deliveries can be depending on deliveries from the other teams. Stakeholder management will be vital for you in order to ensure maintenance and compliancy across other teams/platforms in cooperation with the product and technical departments. Where larger business cases are required, you will help out forming the business cases.  

This team lead role includes personnel responsibility with continuous motivation efforts setting clear and elevating goals, holding performance appraisals as well as yearly salary reviews. You make sure that the right competencies are on the teams. 

You are a member of the IT management team with two parallel team leads, architects and operation, and you report directly to the CTO of DIBS. Furthermore, you will work closely with Product Owners as well as with the Operations department and software architects. 

Your responsibilities will primarily be to  

  • Support the teams in building a healthy product backlog and supporting the PO with technical maintenance/compliance tasks 
  • Participate in various meetings and coach/support the PO and Scrum masters in planning the development 
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are in place and followed  
  • Ensure alignment with other teams and stakeholders 
  • Employ and empower the team to become a team where continuous improvement is apparent 
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements and preparing budget 
  • Coordinate bigger technical projects 

Personal skills 
We expect you to have at least 5 years of experience as a technical leader or program manager or senior project manager, preferably developing shared hosted applications and/or software solutions handling financial transactions. It would be an advantage if you also have experience from large organisations. You have deep skills driving agile processes, you are used to make risk analysis and evaluation of progress, and react upon the facts. 

You probably have an IT engineering degree from a Technical University, and have experience with teams developing payment platforms. The team you will be heading is developing in Java. You are not expected to take part in coding, but you are familiar with the terms and challenges of software developers. 

You have a good understanding of building performance teams and making cross-country collaboration work. Furthermore, you have a good understanding and sense of product development and user experience. 

You are fluent in both Danish and English, and are able to communicate easily with people from other Nordic countries. 

Personal qualities 
You are professional, trustworthy, result-oriented and a team player - at the same time as being passionate about agile leadership and continuous improvement. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to ensure cooperation with different players/stakeholders from other cultures and countries. Your working style is very structured and diplomatic, you have great analytical skills, you prioritize and get things done.  

As a person, you find it interesting to work with team organization, production, make sure of progress in agile management. You are experienced in situational leadership and change management - and you are in tune with the team with focus on listening to team members, understand and react. You are good at creating overview, transparency and can easily explain in a non tech way what you team is working on. 

We expect your leadership skills to be inspiring, coaching and situation based - your team’s success is your success. You have an open and easy-going personality, as well as a positive attitude. Moreover, you have a pragmatic and dynamic approach towards problem solving and decision making in order to reach the targets of your organization.
