Then working as a Technical Support Office Senior Specialist Ship Structures for Lloyd’s Register is something for you! We will offer you a challenging job opportunity and the possibility to develop yourself and realize your ambitions.

What does the role offer?
In this varied role you will be responsible for design appraisal and also, to some extent, consultancy work. The role covers approval of various ship types’ structures to the Rules & Regulations of Lloyd’s Register as well as statutory codes and international standards, in a consistent and timely manner for both new construction and conversions projects. You will examine and approve a large variety of ship types’ structures ranging from small, below convention size, cargo and passenger ships to big convention size cargo ships, passenger ships and yachts.

The work is office based from our office in Hellerup, Copenhagen, but you will occasionally be required local traveling to clients and shipyards and you might be requested to take part in negotiations or meetings with shipyards, flag administrations and kick‐off meetings with clients.

What do you need?

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) .
  • Experience with structural analysis of ship structures and marine components. Structural aspects of ships such as longitudinal strength as well as detail designs and strength calculations of ship structures and components must be very familiar to you.
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Preparation of the associated correspondence in accordance with the applicable procedures and liaison with clients.
  • To provide technical advice to internal and external clients.
