We are looking for a Software Architect for our front-end innovation team who can participate in securing the future success of Ambu.

Key responsibilities as Software Architect

As our new Software Architect in front–end system innovation, you will work closely with our software development partners. You will enter a close collaboration with our hardware function, our marketing department as well as with our customers to optimise product performance.
 
Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Deliver a consolidated software architecture and help implementation of the architecture 
  • Participate in the requirement definition, software design, code implementation and verification of software
  • Generate Software Requirement specification, design documents and test specification according to FDA and ISO
  • Contribute in reviewing deliverables of software components
  • Leverage technology and contribute to and/or drive technology roadmaps

 
Experienced in medical software development 

To be considered for this position you need to hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree within software engineering, be a computer scientist or similar. In addition, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with software, ideally within medical devices. You also need to have an excellent understanding of software development life cycles and basic electronics hardware, including the interfacing to software systems. In addition to that, you know how to code and structure software to meet the IEC 62304 standard.
 
Furthermore, we expect you to have extensive experience of:

  • Medical software development, including related processes
  • Development of software for embedded systems, Windows/Linux platforms or similar 
  • Development cooperation with subcontractors  
  • Review of software components 
  • Verification and testing 
  • Experience with international cooperation and preferably basic understanding of Asian work culture and communication  

 
Because of the high level of collaboration related to this role, we expect you to be an independent person with great interpersonal skills. You have good communication and collaboration skills, which you use to manage the interests of internal and external stakeholders. This means that you manage to maintain good relationships with your global network and at the same time you challenge existing processes. You need to be able to take ownership of your tasks, be well structured, detail-oriented and be great at coordinating, while having a proactive and flexible mind-set. Furthermore, your excellent ability to plan, execute and meet deadlines are key to success in this position. 
 
It is a requirement that you are fluent in oral and written English, and that you are willing to travel approximately 20 days per year.
