At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose, and we hope you are too. A fast growing world population means that the global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet the demand. We want to come up with smarter ways to make the best use of agricultural resources, and to help eliminate food waste. If that sounds like something you would like to get out of bed for every Monday morning, then read on.

The job
We are looking for a Senior Scientist in electronics to strengthen the role by teaming up with our current Senior Scientist in electronics. Jointly, you will take the responsibility for developing the area scientifically and technically across FOSS R&D. The job is in R&D Programs in our R&D department where we are dealing with sophisticated technology, flow systems and mechanical features based on state of the art electronics and optics.

You will be working in R&D Programs targeting FOSS’ market segments but with the key responsibility for developing the area across several project teams and programs. As part of the job, you will also act as Electrical lead on one or two projects. Our Project teams consist of specialists from e.g. the mechanical, electrical, optical, to the chemical field. We are all focusing on developing and integrating new technology into analytical solutions and instruments for our global customers.

Primary tasks
As Senior Scientist, your main tasks are within FOSS´current development projects and in parallel, together with the current senior scientist for electronics, setting the scientifical, strategical and technical direction and driving the future development of the area. Typical tasks in the teams span from electronic circuit design, simulation and test to trouble shooting interfaces to optics and mechanics. Tasks thus often require a coordinated effort across the organization, and you will get to work with many different teams and colleagues. The job is located at our newly expanded R&D Innovation Centre in new HW labs at Foss Allé in Hillerød, Denmark.

Qualifications
We expect your educational background to be at Master level in electronics or perhaps at PhD level, and to have solid experience within the following fields:

  • Technical coordination across projects and departments.
  • Strategical work (inclusive writing strategies)
  • Review of electronics designs
  • Design of analog circuits (filters, amplifier and A/D circuits)
  • Design of electro-mechanical driver circuits for motors, solenoids, valves etc.
  • Design of  DC-DC power supplies
  • Design of digital electronics (µc and FPGA circuits)
  • VHDL programming of FPGA using Xilinx Vivado
  • Orcad Capture and Pspice

If you have previously worked with other disciplines such as mechanics, optics, light, ESW, EMC, or electro mechanical interfaces, it will be considered an advantage.

Personal skills
To be successful in this role, you need a natural talent for taking the lead and for setting the direction and communicating it actively to other specialists. Team working and being active building relationships with many different people and cultures are a must – we picture you as a true team player with a good sense of humor. You are able to plan your own time and coordinate smaller tasks/projects across the teams. This means that you are good at keeping an overview and handling changes and that you thrive with many different types of tasks to get things done.

Since FOSS is a global organization, it is a prerequisite that you are fluent in Danish and English.

We offer
We offer a challenging job in an international, innovative and highly successful organization. We are market leaders within our field and very proud of the results we deliver.

Our work is based on trust and working in teams, and you can expect to enter a great working place where work-life balance and flexibility are valued and where you can bring your ideas to the table and make a real difference.

At FOSS, we value our employees and believe in cooperation, in straightforward communication and in setting clear objectives to achieve our goals.
