In this newly established and challenging position, you will be an active contributor in the global innovation team driving and providing product expertise in sustaining activities related to endoscopes products as well as working with new product development.

As our new Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will be a part of the Global Innovation organisation and join our Mechanical Engineering team. The position is based at the Ambu headquarter in Ballerup and you will report the Director for the Mechanical Engineering team.

Take part in all phases and across the organisation
As Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in the product life cycle for our endoscopes – including taking part in the front-end activities. When responsible for the product life cycle, you will have a high degree of influence on the end-product, just as you will have a great impact on our business.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead product support and sustaining activities across product areas and across the organisation.
  • Perform medical device changes, enhancements and corrections founded in structured root cause analyses, risk analysis and customer feedback, incl. the mechanical design, where you will be responsible for designing plastic parts and mechanisms when performing design changes on our devices.
  • Design Control of medical devices, incl. requirements engineering, safety risk management and verification & validation.
  • Securing product quality, safety and compliance within regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  • Documentation and testing according to FDA and ISO requirements.
  • Lead assigned corrective and preventive actions as part of ongoing continuous improvement objectives.
  • To identify user/stakeholder needs through participation in the project start-up phase.

You will have a job with high and broad impact, and you will work in a cross functional and international environment with colleague from sites in e.g. Malaysia, China, and Germany.

Experienced medical device engineer

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a minimum of 8 years of experience with product development and sustaining activities for medical devices – preferably single-use devices. You need to have extensive experience with mechanical design of plastic parts and materials in general and you have worked with development of new testing methods for verification of products/components. You also need to have experience with mechanics and software/hardware interaction. It is natural for you to work with subcontractors and suppliers.

Due to your long experience in the MedTech industry you are also well grounded in your experience with documentation of the work according to FDA/ISO guidelines/ requirements, e.g. design control, requirements engineering, safety risk management.

You have a practical, structured and systematic approach focusing on securing progress and delivering high quality results. You are pro-active, committed, can work independently and you take responsibility for your own tasks. In the position as Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will be participating in cross-organisational activities, therefore you must have good collaboration and coordination skills.
