As our new Senior Manager in Engineering Two-stroke you will join MAN ES on an exciting journey. We are the global market leader of energy efficient and fuel flexible large marine engine systems. We are looking for a Senior Manager who is self-driven, but still a team player and who thrives in a challenging role to lead the Design Large Bore (EEEL) function.

As a Senior Manager in Design Large Bore you will lead teams covering many technical aspects and having the overall responsibility for the large bore engines. You will be responsible for the daily management, securing efficient execution of the design delivery to our main customers – the Licensees, supporting projects and tasks as well as coordination with the other teams across the two-stroke business and PrimeServ. You will be part of the Engineering senior management team and be able to directly influence our development roadmaps.
What are you going to do?
As a Senior Manager of the Design Large Bore your focus will be to drive the design department into further effectiveness and capability in an ever changing environment where the focus on green solutions is developing fast. The function is delivering highly qualified engine designs and serves as an advisor to our external and internal customers within the final design of the large bore engine portfolio.
As a Senior Manager you support and develop the department managers, and motivate people, in order to get the best out of your teams and focus on maintaining and developing a lean and effective workforce with strong technical competencies in the relevant fields. Including close cooperation with our Indian colleagues which account for an appreciable contribution to the work force. Maintaining a strong external network of contacts with mainly our Licensees, but also Owners, is another important part of the role.
Who are you?
As our new colleague, you have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and a natural flair for communication with frankness and also respect. You have great organizational skills and an ability to apply structure to a busy working day for yourself and your teams. An ability to know when to take the helicopter view, and when to dive more into details and last but not least stamina to drive changes.
The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering or equivalent with experience in managing technical teams with a diverse technical background and educational level.

You will be leading a department with around 65 qualified colleagues and be part of the Engineering senior management team.
