MyDefence is a dynamic and fast-paced organization committed to maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance. We are looking for an experienced and open-minded Security Engineer to join our Information and Security team. This role is crucial in implementing and managing our security governance framework, including policies, processes, manuals, and risk management strategies.

You will report directly to our Chief Information Security Officer Kartheepan Balachandran and work closely with IT and security team members to ensure a unified approach to cybersecurity, while collaborating with other departments to implement security measures and maintain compliance. Additionally, you will engage with external partners and vendors as needed to support and enhance security initiatives.

What you will do:

Alert/log monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze security logs to detect and respond to potential threats.

Incident response: Respond to security incidents promptly, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with SOC.

Kill chain analysis: Understand and apply the kill chain methodology to anticipate, detect, and prevent cyber-attacks.

Encryption: Implement and manage encryption technologies to protect sensitive information.

Secure Network Design: Design and implement secure network architectures to protect organizational data.

Firewall Configuration: Configure and manage firewalls to ensure network security and compliance with security policies.

What you bring:

Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacker are highly desirable.

Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a security analyst role or similar position.

Tools: Proficient in SIEM tools and technologies. Experience with incident response, log analysis, and encryption techniques. Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework. Strong knowledge of secure network design principles.

Language skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Location: You will be based at our office in Denmark.

Industry: Please note that obtaining a security clearance is a condition of employment.
